The annual Cattlemen&#8217;s Young Leaders (CYL) Spring Forum event ran May 31 &#8211; June 2, 2022 and was hosted by the Canadian Cattlemen&#8217;s Association&#8217;s CYL Mentorship Program for its program participants age 18-35 involved in various areas of the beef supply chain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-99qrk\" class=\"mm8Nw _1j-51 roLFQS _1FoOD _3M0Fe Z63qyL roLFQS public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"_2PHJq public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">This marked the first CYL Spring Forum back in-person after two years, where CYL graduates from 2019 and 2020, who did not get to experience an in-person forum were invited back to participate in the event alongside the current program participants. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-2ht3v\" class=\"mm8Nw _1j-51 roLFQS _1FoOD _3M0Fe Z63qyL roLFQS public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"_2PHJq public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">This year&#8217;s CYL Spring Forum featured speakers on topics such as financial literacy, building your presence on LinkedIn, personality profiling and leadership, media training, industry sustainability, and mental health in agriculture. Young leaders hit the road in the High River, AB and foothills area to take in a number of tours such as visiting the Cargill processing facility, a local butcher shop, Rimrock Feeders, the Vanee Farm Centre, and the Waldron Ranch in southern Alberta. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-9rv6s\" class=\"mm8Nw _1j-51 roLFQS _1FoOD _3M0Fe Z63qyL roLFQS public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"_2PHJq public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">The Forum also featured the annual CYL Sponsor reception to thank generous CYL Program sponsors for their investment in the Canadian beef industry&#8217;s next generation and provide valuable networking opportunities for the young leaders. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"_2PHJq public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">Funding for the CYL Program is made available through its Foundation Partners Cargill, MNP, McDonald\u2019s Canada, and New Holland.
