Cattlemen’s Young Leaders Mentorship Program announces 2022 finalists

Calgary, AB – The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) Mentorship Program, a national youth initiative of the Canadian Cattle Association (CCA), is pleased to announce its 16 finalists for the 2022-2023 program year.

The annual CYL Selections competition made an exciting return to the Canadian Beef Industry Conference (CBIC) in Penticton, B.C. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, after two years of hosting the competition virtually. During the competition, 22 impressive semi-finalists from across Canada, and involved in various roles within the beef supply chain, competed for a spot in the CYL Program through judged roundtable discussions. The finalists will be awarded a $2,000 budget to put towards beef industry travel and learning opportunities of their choice and be paired with a hand-picked industry leader for a nine-month mentorship in their specific area of interest.

Calgary, AB – The Canadian Cattlemen’s Association’s (CCA) Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) Mentorship Program is pleased to announce its 24 semi-finalists for the upcoming 2022-2023 program year.

The CYL Program welcomes young people ages 18-35 from across Canada involved in all areas of the beef supply chain and seeks to build the next generation of industry leaders through mentorship and various professional and personal development opportunities.

After conducting the competition virtually for the past two years, CYL Selections will be making an exciting return to the Canadian Beef Industry Conference in Penticton, BC on August 16, 2022. At CYL Selections, semi-finalists will compete for one of 16 spots in the upcoming CYL program year by participating in judged roundtable discussions on timely beef industry related topics.

Calgary, AB – The Canadian Cattlemen’s Association’s (CCA) Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) Mentorship Program is pleased to announce its 24 semi-finalists for the upcoming 2021-2022 program year.

The CYL Program offers young people ages 18-35 from across Canada the opportunity to be paired with a beef industry leader in their specific area of interest for a nine-month mentorship. In addition, program participants engage in numerous networking opportunities with their peers and industry stakeholders throughout the year, and are granted a $2,000 budget to fund various learning opportunities and their participation in industry events of their choice.

The CYL Program saw another strong turnout from a highly qualified group of applicants. The 24 semi-finalists were selected by a judging panel and will now advance to the final round of competition at the annual CYL Selections event. Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) Mentorship Program announces 2020 finalists

Calgary, AB – The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) Mentorship Program, a national youth initiative of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA), is pleased to announce the 16 finalists for the 2020-2021 program year.

The final selection took place through a virtual event held on August 10, 2020, where 24 semi-finalists from across Canada competed for a spot in the CYL program through judged roundtable discussions. The finalists will be awarded a $2,000 travel budget and be paired with a hand-picked industry leader for a nine-month mentorship in their specific area of interest.

Through the virtual selections event, the semi-finalists participated in roundtable discussions by breaking off into smaller virtual meetings each facilitated and judged by CYL Foundation Partners, Cargill, McDonald’s Canada and MNP, and Gold Sponsors, Farm Credit Canada and New Holland. The CCA’s Cattlemen’s Young Leaders Mentorship Program announces 2020 semi-finalists

Calgary, AB – The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) Mentorship Program is pleased to announce its 24 semi-finalists for the 2020-2021 program year. The CYL Program is a national youth initiative of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association, which annually pairs participants with a mentor in their specific area of interest in the beef industry and provides networking and travel opportunities tailored for personal and professional growth.

The 24 semi-finalists were selected by a panel of judges from a highly impressive pool of over 50 written applications submitted from young people across Canada ages 18 to 35. The semi-finalists will face the final round of competition during the annual CYL Selections event on August 10, 2020, which is moving to a virtual format this year due to COVID-19.

The 2020 semi-finalists in no particular order are:

Calgary, AB – The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) program is pleased to announce its 2016 national mentorship recipients. The 16 recipients were selected following the final selection round at the Canadian Beef Industry Conference (CBIC), held in Calgary on August 9, 2016. A total of 23 semi-finalists vied for a spot in the national youth initiative of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA).

Calgary, AB – The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) program, a national youth initiative of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA), is pleased to announce the 24 semifinalists vying for 16 mentorship positions in the 2016 program year.

The semifinalists were selected from a pool of nearly 50 applicants. “We are thrilled to see another solid year of applicants to the CYL program,” says Jill Harvie, CCA Programs Manager. “CYL is now hitting its five-year milestone since inception and has grown into a well-established and comprehensive program. This year is particularly exciting as we are pleased to invite the 24 semifinalists to take in the new Canadian Beef Industry Conference (CBIC), August 9-11, where they will vie for the 16 mentorship positions.
